Thespian Membership and Points
How to Join Thespians
THESPIANS is an HONOR SOCIETY. You may be an APPRENTICE THESPIAN for your first year while you accrue at least 10 points for INDUCTION in the spring. APPRENTICE THESPIANS can participate in most Thespian activities.
Once a student has accrued enough points, they will be invited to be inducted. This requires a one-time fee, which is submitted to the International Thespian Society, earning official membership. Apprentices and Members submit a yearly fee to our Thespian troupe in order to supplement social events we host throughout the year, iincluding our end-of-the-year theatre banquet. Please review this year's fee breakdown below. We look forward to seeing you this year!
New/Returning - 5082 Chapter Dues - $15
New Members - One Time ITS membership fee - $37
To be inducted:
Inductees must earn 10 points, 5 of which should be awarded for work done at the school where he or she will be inducted. Accumulation of points will begin the June after the student’s 8th grade year. All hours earned outside of the school will need to be verified.
In general, 1 point represents approximately 10 hours of excellent work. Troupe directors should use this formula in awarding points for categories not specifically listed in the recommended Thespian point awards.
Induction points should be earned through participation in at least two productions/events at Liberty High School.
Induction points should be earned in at least two of the categories, for example, acting and production.
Students may earn points toward induction through participation in community, or professional theatre; or in other activities in the performing arts.
Thespian membership will be made available on an equitable basis to all students who qualify.
An incoming freshman who was active in Junior Thespians can count 5 points from that experience into their point totals.
To maintain active status:
Participate in at least 2 LHS Theatre events per school year.
Attend Thespian meetings.
Adhere to all school policies.
Stay up to date on all Thespian Dues.

Thespian Induction will take place in May 2024.

Yes! Any student who was a Junior Thespian in Middle School can carry over up to 5 points from their Junior Thespian points to their High School Thespian points record. If the student also served as a Thespian Officer for their Middle School Thespian Troupe, they may carry over an additional 5 points.
